Knowledgebase article Digital
Rights Management Middleware
The Protector family of digital rights management
solutions form a unique class of middleware solutions providing drm
services to applications. Applications can include content management
applications, Bayesian search systems, Databases, Collaboration Networks,
Virtual Libraries, Distributed Searches, advanced pattern recognition
technologies probabilistic modeling and digital signal processing.
The digital rights management middleware layer is
implemented client-side but controlled in parallel by a rights management
server. In addition it can be applied to any application over a secure
intranet or extranet as well as on traditional virtual private networks (VPNs).
Access is granted at the application layer, rather
than the network layer, eliminating network exposure to such threats as
viruses, Trojans and hackers.
The administator can also control access down to the file, application, or
URL level to unaffiliated partners and clients.
The middleware architecture means that no software has to be specially
configured on the users' computers, thus reducing the support costs. |
